What do official documents say about CPAP power use?
In ResMed's own metered test, an AirSense 10 used about 7 W on average with no humidifier, 22 W with the humidifier on and 34 W with a heated tube as well. The humidifier, not the blower, decides most of a CPAP's battery use, so switching it off can stretch a station's runtime three- to five-fold.
Power consumption of Air10 devices (ResMed document 1018673/1)
ResMed rates the AirSense 11 at 56.1 W typical and 73.2 W peak. That typical figure is what the runtimes on this page use, so a night without the heated humidifier should last longer than shown.
ResMed lists the AirMini travel CPAP at 6.3 W typical, 27 W peak and 1 W on standby, about a ninth of a full-size machine with a humidifier.
Philips says the DreamStation 2 needs an 80 W power supply to run its humidifier but publishes no typical draw. Treat 80 W as the ceiling when you size a station for it.
