Can a portable power station charge an e-bike, scooter or EV?
Yes. 59 of 59 current portable power stations can run an e-bike charger: it needs at least 144 W of continuous output. For 8 hours of nonstop use it needs about 1,355 Wh, which 29 of them hold.
How many full charges does each size of power station give?
A charger stops when the battery is full, so count full charges rather than hours: a typical e-bike battery holds about 500 Wh, and the largest current station, the EcoFlow DELTA Pro Ultra, refills it about 10 times.
Full charges = station capacity × 85% (inverter loss) ÷ battery pack size. Pack sizes: e-bike 500 Wh; electric scooter 551 Wh, from the manufacturers' published specs (see the source notes below). The charger's own losses aren't published, so real counts run a little lower.
| Station size | Full e-bike charges | Full electric scooter charges |
|---|---|---|
| Under 500 Wh | 0.2–0.8 | 0.2–0.8 |
| 500–999 Wh | 0.9–1.7 | 0.8–1.5 |
| 1,000–1,999 Wh | 1.7–2.6 | 1.6–2.4 |
| 2,000–2,999 Wh | 3.4–4.7 | 3.1–4.3 |
| 3,000 Wh and up | 5.1–10.4 | 4.7–9.5 |
How much battery does an e-bike charger need?

Can solar panels keep an e-bike charger running?
With panels delivering 75% of their rating (our calculator's default), about 192 W of panels covers its average draw of about 144 W, so the battery holds steady while the sun is high. 50 current models can both run it and accept that much solar input.
